Chelan-Douglas Land Trust Names Hanne Beener as New Executive Director

Wenatchee, WA – The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) is pleased to announce that Hanne Beener has been selected as its new Executive Director. Beener, a longtime conservation leader in North Central Washington, will officially begin her new role on June 30, 2025.

Beener brings more than a decade of local conservation experience to the position, including 10 years at CDLT, where she most recently served as Trails Program Manager. Her work helped shape many of the community trails and access projects that residents and visitors enjoy today. Most recently, she served as Policy & Planning Manager at TREAD, where she worked across sectors to support sustainable recreation, stewardship, and land use policy throughout the region.

“I am delighted to be rejoining the Land Trust in this new role,” said Beener. “The organization is woven into the fabric of our region, and I think its success has always been in doing work that intersects with a wide range of community values. I am proud to join the staff and board in building on the strong foundation of conservation, restoration, and public access work that the Land Trust does so well.”

Beener is known for her thoughtful leadership style, deep local knowledge, and strong track record of collaboration across agencies, nonprofits, and community groups.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hanne back to CDLT. Her integrity, experience, and community-centered leadership make her the ideal person to guide the Land Trust into its next chapter.”

The Board of Directors conducted a national search with the assistance of Clover Search Works, an executive recruiting firm specializing in nonprofit leadership. After a rigorous selection process, Beener rose to the top for her unique combination of institutional knowledge, strategic vision, and demonstrated commitment to CDLT’s mission.

A community welcome event is planned for later this summer. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
