You can help take care of the lands and waters you love even after your lifetime by naming the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy. It is as simple as filling out a beneficiary designation form for your IRA, 401(k), pension, or life insurance that is entirely separate from your will – making this an easy way to give.
This is also a flexible way to give. You aren’t locked into the choices you make today – you can revise your beneficiary designation anytime, and it is not necessary to change your will.
Retirement accounts are heavily taxed when they are passed on to your heirs, subject to both income and estate taxes. Because the Land Trust is a non-profit charity, we are not taxed upon receiving an IRA or other retirement plan gift, allowing the full value of your future gift to benefit the special places you love.
Thank you for considering such a generous future gift. Contact Braden Hourigan, Membership & Donor Relations Manager, at (509) 667-9708, email [email protected] or fill out the form below for additional information, or to let us know if you have already included the Land Trust in your plans.
