New StoryWalk® in the Foothills

A new StoryWalk® book has been installed at Jacobson Preserve in Wenatchee! Walk the beginning of the trail to read "Counting Winter" by Nancy White Carlstrom. 

To make it even more fun, we’re giving away free kids’ goodie bags—pick one up at our downtown office (18 N. Wenatchee Ave) after your StoryWalk® adventure!

About the book: One red fox walks across the white snow--quietly stalking winter. Two ravens croak and gurgle--raucously talking winter. Three snowshoe hares hop on big paws--silently tracking winter. Wherever you look, another creature is making its mark on the snow-covered season. Learn more here.

About StoryWalk®:

StoryWalk® is a book presented page by page along a trail, bike path, or in-store windows to promote reading and exercise. The Jacobson StoryWalk® was created as part of a partnership between NCW Libraries and the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and is part of a national effort to foster a greater appreciation for nature and literacy.

Location: 

To reach the Jacobson trailhead, follow Western Avenue until it becomes Canyon Number 2 Road, then turn left onto Skyline Drive. In about 500 feet, the road takes a sharp left and Jacobson Preserve sits above that curve. Park in the Wenatchee Racket and Athletic Club parking lot, in designated spots along the fence.
