LAKE WENATCHEE — The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust announced Tuesday it's secured a new 40-acre parcel on the White River watershed, helping complete a network of floodplain and riverfront land held for conservation.

Newly protected acreage will increase salmon habitat and make it possible to reconnect river oxbow

WENATCHEE — The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) has purchased 40 acres on the lower White River for the conservation of salmon habitat and improved public access.

Many dates from late April to July. Controlling over 20 species of noxious weeds is one of our toughest stewardship duties. Timing of weed control treatments depends on stage of plant growth and favorable weather conditions so we keep a flexible schedule.

Experience and learn about sockeye salmon’s return to the White River with CDLT's Watershed Coordinator David Morgan. Bright red sockeye salmon journey to the beautiful, blue-green waters of the White River each year and are visible from the riverbank as they spawn and guard their eggs.
