We have so much to celebrate this season! We’re thrilled to share that Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and Conservation Fellow Susan Ballinger have been awarded the 2025 Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest Founders’ Award!  Presented by the Wenatchee River Institute and NCW Audubon Society, this honor recognizes an individual and an organization whose long-standing dedication has helped connect people, birds, and nature through this beloved community festival.

Adding to the celebration, our 40th anniversary project—Forty for Forty—is still going strong, with new Wenatchee World articles published each week and free events throughout the year. These stories highlight the special places you have helped protect and remind us why conservation matters. If you haven’t been following along, now’s a great time to jump in—and you can sign up here to get notified when new articles come out!

¡Tenemos mucho que celebrar esta temporada! Estamos encantados de compartir que Chelan-Douglas Land Trust y la Especialista en Conservación Susan Ballinger han sido premiados con el Premio Fundadores del Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest 2025. Este reconocimiento, otorgado por Wenatchee River Institute y NCW Audubon Society, honra a una persona y a una organización cuya dedicación a lo largo del tiempo ha ayudado a conectar a las personas, las aves y la naturaleza a través de este querido festival comunitario.
