Entiat River

WENATCHEE WORLD -

If a piece of land could talk, there wouldn’t be many that could claim to have helped fire victims, salmon, a contractor, an accountant and a building inspector. But there’s one parcel up the Entiat River Valley that’s done just that.

An Entiat River Appreciation event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Entiaqua Park.

Activities will include a fire education tour, nature scavenger hunts, information booths, the Rolling Rivers Watershed model, a magic show and children’s activities. A free barbecue lunch will be served.

The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust has acquired more than 130 acres along the Entiat River as part of a years-long effort to conserve the meandering Stillwater area for salmon habitat.

We are excited share the news that your support of the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust has helped secure another big win for salmon, for the Entiat River, and for the heritage of an old family homestead!

ENTIAT — Meandering through the Stormy Creek Preserve, even in the rain, is a pleasant experience. But do it with Phil Archibald, and it’s also enlightening.
