Mountain Home Ridge

Learn about trails in our area, whether you hike, bike, run or ride a horse. Trails provide entry into the special places that make our area so spectacular - places that provide space for wildlife to live and humans to visit.

Locals in Leavenworth only have to look up to know the value of Land Trust’s Mountain Home property. The property’s forested hillsides, dramatic post-fire ecology, and open ridgelines provide amazing views from the valley, instead of the eight houses that were planned.

Community Science Projects are collaborations between scientists and volunteers that expand opportunities for scientific data collection and help answer real-world questions. At the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT), volunteers play a vital role in long-term monitoring that informs how we care for local lands and wildlife.

This is a great area where you can make your trip as short or as long as you like.

The main loop follows Mountain Home Road to the top of a saddle and has great views of Wedge Mountain and the Enchantments.

Please drive slowly and carefully, traveling to/from the trailhead.

Mountain views, beautiful rivers, and an active local community help make Leavenworth a great place to live.  As the gateway to the Cascade Mountains, the Leavenworth area also attracts tourists, hikers, anglers, and climbers each year. Sharing this space with residents and visitors is abundant wildlife, from black bears and elk to salmon.
