Castle Rock Natural Area

The city has agreed to buy lower Castlerock from the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and maintain it for open space and trails.The City Council voted unanimously to buy the roughly 37 acres at the foot of the iconic rock feature west of the city for $270,000 — about half the value of the land.
