If the community wants the Loop Trail to be saved, the Loop Trail will be saved. The land beneath it will not be sold.

This was the hopeful assurance of the state's Secretary of Transportation Paula Hammond, who was the focus of a standing-room-only meeting Thursday at Eastmont Junior High School to discuss the future of the riverfront.
