PUD to target foothills trespassers in Thursday deer summit

Submitted on

Hikers, runners, mountain bikers and dog walkers--mostly well-intentioned--who stray into sections of the Wenatchee foothills that are closed for the winter will be the target of an educational talk on mule deer Thursday at Pybus Public Market at 6:30 p.m.

Mule deer experts from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife will join biologists from the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and the Chelan County PUD for a talk about the foothills' resident and migrant mule deer populations and why humans need to stay away from them this time of year--no matter how gorgeous the day or intense the urge to hike.
