Thank you to everyone who joined us-we’re grateful for your time and participation. For those who were unable to attend, the presentation details and resources are shared below.
Landscaping for Fire Resistance: Native Plant Strategies in a Changing Climate explored how thoughtful plant selection and landscape design can help reduce wildfire risk around homes.
Presenter Bio: Al Murphy, a retired forester with 37 years of experience with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, shared practical strategies for creating fire-resistant landscapes in our increasingly fire-prone region. Drawing on his extensive background in interagency fire management and his current work as a Master Gardener, Al discussed how native vegetation, defensible space, and smart landscaping choices can help protect homes in the Wildland Urban Interface.
