Would you like to learn how to identify some of the ducks, geese, and other water birds that winter along the Columbia River? Wenatchee Naturalist Susan Ballinger has designed this course to increase your observation skills in a collaborative setting, using field guides, bird study skins, presentations and high quality optics. The field sessions will be held at Walla Wall Point Park, where participants will practice birding skills under supportive guidance of local NCW Audubon Society members. This combined classroom and field course can launch you on your way to becoming a better bird watcher alongside a group of other enthusiasts. No past experience required. Classroom meetings are on Wenatchee Valley College campus, Feb 19 and Feb 26, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Field meetings are Feb 20, 7:30 - 8:30 am or 4:40 - 5:30 pm, and March 1, 9 - 11:30 am.
This is a Continuing Education course offered through Wenatchee Valley College. The cost is $49 ($44.10 for persons 60 and older) with sign up required through the Continuing Education program. Please register at the Wenatchee Valley College Continuing Education website.
