CDLT Addresses Unofficial Chopper Peak Route:

The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) has installed a sign at Castle Rock - the base of Chopper Peak/1:2 Divide - to alert hikers that the existing route is unauthorized, unmaintained, and hazardous. Continued use of this path is causing significant erosion, vegetation loss, and safety concerns.

CDLT is committed to creating a sustainable, authorized trail to Chopper Peak that balances recreation with habitat protection. However, this effort will require funding, community support, and partnerships.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Stay informed – Check CDLT’s website and social media for updates.
  • Share your thoughts – Email or call CDLT with input on future trails.
  • Support the project – Become a CDLT member and donate to fund trail improvements.
  • Volunteer – Join work parties to help maintain trails and restore habitat.
