We need your help to plant a mix of native riparian trees and shrubs and to install weed barriers around them at Lower Sleepy Hollow!
Location Directions: We will meet at our Lower Sleepy Hollow property, located at 1229 Lower Sunnyslope Rd, Wenatchee, WA 98801. Upon turning into the driveway from Lower Sunnyslope Road, stay to the right and continue down the gravel driveway that parallels the road. Carpooling is encouraged. If you are unable to stay for the duration of the event, please let me know so we can plan to park your vehicle in a convenient location to exit.
Duties: We will use shovels and hand augers to prepare planting holes and install native plants. If mulch is available, we will use wheelbarrows and rakes to spread it throughout the site.
Please bring clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and hiking/work shoes.
We will provide gloves and tools, as well as drinks and snacks.
Note: A restroom is located near the work area for participant use. The work site is mostly flat, though some areas have gentle slopes. This project involves light to moderately strenuous physical activity.
Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome!
Please contact [email protected] for any questions, thank you!
Accessibility: The Land Trust is working to make all of our events as accessible as possible. Please let us know at least one week in advance if there is something we can do or provide to support you in participating in this outing to the fullest, and we will accommodate as possible.
