Wildfire damage to Horse Lake Reserve Trailhead to be repaired

WENATCHEE — The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust was awarded a $2000 Rural Communities Grant from the local Northwest Farm Credit Services branch in January 2016. Land Trust staff applied for the grant in order to facilitate repairs to infrastructure at Horse Lake Trailhead that was damaged in the Sleepy Hollow wildfire in 2015. This funding will be used to purchase replacement signs and fencing materials; volunteers will provide the labor to install the signs and reconstruct fences at the trailhead. The Land Trust appreciates the support from Northwest Farm Credit Services and their recognition of Horse Lake Trailhead’s value to our community.

To volunteer to help with the trailhead repair work at Horse Lake Reserve this spring, call the Land Trust at (509) 667-9708 or visit www.cdlandtrust.org for a list of volunteer work party dates.
