We are thrilled to share the news that two major land protection projects were completed last week, safeguarding two diverse but equally strategic and critical natural areas forever!
Napeequa and White Rivers
The land along both sides of the Napeequa River from its mouth at the White River to the Glacier Peak Wilderness boundary is now permanently protected by a conservation easement. This easement, our second with Tall Timber, safeguards the high-quality floodplain, wetlands, and channel migration areas along the Napeequa and along the White River near the confluence.
Protecting this critical salmon habitat not only benefits fish and wildlife, it helps ensure a clean, reliable water supply to downstream communities and farmers and helps Tall Timber Ranch continue to bring groups of public school students and families to the camp to learn about nature in a stunningly beautiful location.

Eagle Rock
A key piece of wildlife habitat above the Eagle Rock neighborhood is now permanently protected, thanks to the landowner’s very generous donation of a conservation easement on their stunning 750-acre property. The property is surrounded on three sides by the Swakane Wildlife area, and this permanent land protection agreement ensures that mule deer and other wildlife will always be able to use this critical winter range. For people who enjoy the scenic view of the hills north of the lower Wenatchee River, this beautiful hillside will now remain undeveloped forever. The land remains privately owned, and will be managed for wildlife and will not be open to the public.
