Despite fires, deer population appears healthy

WENATCHEE — Deer in Chelan County appear to be making it through this winter just fine, despite fires last fall that damaged some of their habitat.

That’s because of three things, according to David Volsen, district wildlife biologist for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.
