WENATCHEE — The sun chased away the clouds after a week of rain and snow to shine down on the seasonal reopening of the Sage Hills trails on Sunday.

“What a beautiful day,” Dick Giger called out as he stopped for a water break along the trail.

The scoop on scooping poop is that your pet’s free-range doo-dooing is a no-no on trails near Saddle Rock.

Don’t poo-poo this idea. Saddle Rock is a new Wenatchee city park and that means the rules and regulations governing distribution of, um, meadow muffins by any dog, cat, ferret, gerbil, goldfish — or any other pet — are in full force. In other words, you have to pick up what they put down.

WENATCHEE — Rep. Mike Armstrong has introduced a plan that would hand over ownership of the eastside portion of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail to Douglas County and East Wenatchee.
