The wait is finally over! The Foothills trails opened on April 1st, and many people are already out enjoying the outdoors! As you head out, remember to stay on the trail, keep dogs leashed, and soak in those amazing views.
Please help protect the trails by staying off them when they are muddy—using them in wet conditions can cause lasting damage.

Phil Archibald Celebration of Life |
Everyone is invited to celebrate the life of Phil Archibald, a dedicated long-serving stewardship committee volunteer, fisheries biologist, and beloved neighbor and site steward for Stormy Creek Preserve. Phil's legacy lives on through his stewardship, community science contributions, and the deep connection he and his wife, Kim Lohse, shared with the Entiat River. Kim also played a vital role in CDLT’s history, serving on the Board of Directors for approximately 8 years. Sunday, June 8, 2025 2:00pm-4:30pm Pybus Public Market

The hills are vibrant with spring blooms like balsamroot, bluebells, and yellow bells—one of the earliest flowers in the Sage Hills.
Yellow bells have bright, nodding flowers that turn orange with age and grow from a sweet potato-like bulb that was once a prized spring food for native Americans. But not all flowers are friendly—enter the meadow death camas, with its innocent-looking white flowers and onion-like bulb, is highly toxic and can be deadly if eaten. Native Americans knew it as the “poison onion” and used fish oil as a remedy for poisoning.

Dato curioso sobre las flores |
Las colinas rebosan de flores primaverales como la balsamina, las campanillas azules y las campanillas amarillas, una de las primeras flores de las Colinas Sage.
Las campanillas amarillas tienen flores brillantes y ondulantes que se hacen anaranjadas con la edad y crecen a partir de un bulbo parecido a la batata, que antaño era un preciado alimento primaveral. Pero no todas las flores son amigables: la cama de la muerte, con sus inocentes flores blancas y su bulbo parecido a una cebolla, es altamente tóxica y puede ser mortal si se ingiere. Los nativos americanos la conocían como la "cebolla venenosa" y usaban aceite de pescado como remedio para el envenenamiento.
