Sleepy Hollow 1st salmon release

CDLT's partner, Cascade Fisheries brought Palisades Elementary pre-K through 6th grade students to release 140 Yakama Nation coho salmon.

"I wanted to thank you all for the partnership that made this possible, and a HUGE thanks to Elisa for coming out to deliver a fun and memorable experience for the kids. It wouldn't have been the same without her!"

-Jen Herdmann, Cascade Fisheries Program Specialist

Fuzzy-tongue Penstemon

CDLT staff co-led a Naturalist walk last week at Castle Rock to showcase the Fuzzy-tongued Penstemon. This species variety only grows in North Central Washington -and nowhere else in the world!

Right now, it is in full bloom in the Wenatchee Foothills and easily recognized and seen from trails.

Seeking a StoryWalk© Volunteer

CDLT is seeking a volunteer to help select children's books for the Jacobson Preserve StoryWalk©, a partner project with the Wenatchee Library. Nature-themed and bilingual books are posted each spring, summer, and fall. Families find that moving from post to post to read a book motivates young children to hike! Time commitment is less than 20 hrs/year, with flexibility.

Contact Susan Ballinger to learn more ([email protected]).
