We have some exciting news to share with you! After a rigorous regional and nationwide search with many strong applicants, we are thrilled and excited to announce that Eunice Youmans has been selected as Chelan-Douglas Land Trust’s new Executive Director.
Eunice is the first woman executive director in CDLT’s 37-year history. She brings an extensive background in non-profit management, land management, fundraising, relationship building, international climate policy and climate change, strategic planning and business development.
Our Executive Director, Curt Soper will be working with Eunice for several months to ensure a smooth transition before he officially begins his retirement. Eunice and her family will be relocating from Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts to Leavenworth this summer and will start her position in early August.
In Eunice's own words, “I am so excited to join CDLT! From the minute I saw the job announcement and looked more closely at the amazing things that are happening in North Central Washington to preserve and protect land and wildlife habitat, I was determined to be a part of this tremendous organization.”
With your support, the Land Trust has become a leader in land conservation on both a local and regional scale. In the 37 years of the CDLT’s existence, we have seen enormous progress in meaningful protection of our unique landscapes, rivers and natural spaces. We are confident that Eunice is the right person to lead us forward and continue that success.
There will be upcoming opportunities for you to meet Eunice and welcome her into our conservation community!
