State Grant Supports Foothills Trails |
We’re excited to share that the Land Trust was awarded $60,790 from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Funding Board to support repairs across 33 miles of trails in the Wenatchee Foothills!
We are deeply grateful to the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board for investing in our community’s trails and open spaces, ensuring they remain safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. |

Upcoming Public Hearing: Public Benefit Rating System
|
Currently, the Chelan County Planning Commission is undertaking a review of the PBRS with the intent to scale it back. The PBRS allows landowners with open space lands (including owners with conservation easements) to apply for a reduction in property taxes on such lands. Potential changes to the PBRS could include: -
Adding an acreage floor to qualify for the program.
- Capping the reduction in fair market value.
- Making public access a requirement for program eligibility.
A public hearing on proposed revisions will be held September 24, 2025, from 6:30–8:30 pm. Learn more and attend via Zoom. |

We’re excited to welcome Catherine Waterston as the newest member of CDLT’s Board of Directors and Engagement Committee. Catherine has called Wenatchee home since 2019 and brings more than 15 years of experience in land conservation across the West. She currently works with The Nature Conservancy in Washington and enjoys exploring the outdoors by foot, bike, and paddleboard. |
