Connecting youth
to the outdoors
CDLT and partners had a wonderful two-day trip with students from Mission View Elementary! The kids pushed through a steep hike at Hay Canyon on the first day. Although it was challenging, they said the view was “worth it!”
Their second day at Lake Chelan State Park was full of good food, a shorter hike, and lots of fun in the water. The kids got to hear the legend of “how the bear lost his tail” and engaged with wonder of why bears don’t have tails.
During the school year, the focus of student field trips has been at Lower Sleepy Hollow, where they've set up a wildlife trail camera project and helped pull invasive spotted knapweed during camps. |
