A 20-year vision taking shape in the Upper Wenatchee |
|
|
Years of collaboration are paying off in the Upper Wenatchee. A planning effort launched in the mid-2010s by CDLT, the Trust for Public Land, Chelan County, and others created a roadmap for conserving tens of thousands of acres of privately owned forestland for wildlife, salmon recovery, and public access. That vision is now becoming reality, with more than 11,500 acres recently protected and additional funding secured to conserve even more in the years ahead. |

A look back to our Forty for Forty Project |

As part of our 40th anniversary celebration, last year CDLT launched Forty for Forty—a series of 40 articles in The Wenatchee World and 40 free events highlighting the lands and waters our community has helped protect over the past four decades.
We want to give a heartfelt thank you to Andy Dappen, who initiated the Forty for Forty concept and helped bring this project to life in a way that honors CDLT’s history and impact.
We are also grateful to The Wenatchee World for being an incredible partner by sharing these stories through their newspaper, magazines, and other media
And to the many writers who contributed articles to this series. Thank you for helping tell the story of conservation in North Central Washington. |

In a fun feature from Living Bird magazine, the Cornell Lab explores why so many pro teams are named for birds and how likely you are to spot the real birds near their home cities using eBird data. From falcons and eagles to cardinals, pelicans, and even our own “Seahawks” (aka Ospreys), it’s a delightful mix of nature, culture, and conservation. |

Una visión de 20 años tomando forma en Upper Wenatchee |

Años de colaboración están dando frutos en el Alto Wenatchee. Un esfuerzo de planificación iniciado a mediados de la década de 2010 por CDLT, Trust for Public Land, el Condado de Chelan y otros creó una hoja de ruta para conservar decenas de miles de acres de bosques de propiedad privada para la vida silvestre, la recuperación del salmón y el acceso público.
