Join us for a morning family-friendly outing to our Sam Hill Preserve near Leavenworth. Located just inside the Icicle Canyon, this spot has a short, easy trail for kids. On this kid-focused outing, we'll explore, learn a wildflower or two, and possibly make some nature art and animal homes. 


Caring For Our Forests: Mountain Home Forest Health Walk

What does it take to restore a forest to a healthy condition? Join Land Trust Stewardship Director Neal Hedges and CDLT Past Board President/retired USFS forest scientist Dr. John Lehmkuhl for an evening hike on Mountain Home Ridge this May to see how the Land Trust has been working to address this question.


Nason Ridge Family Walk to Big Red

Join us for a morning family-friendly walk to visit Big Red, the giant Ponderosa pine on the Nason Ridge trail near Lake Wenatchee. We will do a fun nature activity and take home a piece of nature art from the walk. 


Sleepy Hollow Riverside Ramble

Give your mother the gift of an evening spent in nature. One of our newest protected properties, Sleepy Hollow Preserve contains almost 40 acres of land along the lower Wenatchee. On this outing, we will explore what makes this place so special and important to protect. This takes place the day after Mother’s Day, so we will be including Mother’s Day-themed activities on this outing.

Spend an evening among wildflowers at the mouth of the Icicle Canyon on the Land Trust’s Sam Hill property. CDLT Conservation Fellow Susan Ballinger has led the field work to create a comprehensive plant species list for Sam Hill, and invites CDLT members to explore this unique place and learn more about the late-spring blooming wildflowers.

Mountain Home Birds & Blooms Walk

Explore wildflowers, birds, animal tracks, geology and more on this evening walk at our Mountain Home Property above Leavenworth. This trip will be led by CDLT Conservation Fellow Susan Ballinger, who makes monthly visits to Mountain Home to record bird use. Beautiful views, wildlife, and the evening light – don’t miss this trip!
