Celebrate Native Plant Appreciation week by spending an evening surrounded by blooming wildflowers, with a great view to lift your spirits. Conservation Fellow Susan Ballinger has designed these short, weekday strolls to fit a busy schedule and all ages.


Trail Maintenance at Horse Lake Reserve
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Join us on Thursday, April 25th from 3-6 PM for trail maintenance at Horse Lake Reserve to prepare for the 6th Annual Horse Lake Trail Run. We will split up into small groups to do brushing and hazard reduction along the route. This work will likely be light to moderate and involve hiking 2-5 miles and using hand tools such as loppers, hand saws, and McLeods along the way.


Upper Valley Nature Walks at Ski Hill

Ski Hill in Leavenworth

Join Connie McCauley to explore the Ski Hill area, looking at wildflowers, birds, and wildlife. Depending upon interest and conditions, participants will explore both ski trails and bike trails during this 3 hour walk. Connie has explored these hills for 40 years and enjoys sharing her local knowledge with all ages and backgrounds.

Join us on Thursday, May 2nd from 3-6 PM for trail maintenance at Horse Lake Reserve. We will tackle trail maintenance on the upper Horse Lake trails that will likely be under patches of snow or too muddy to work on during earlier volunteer trail events.

Sam Hill Walk for Families

Join us for a morning family-friendly outing to our Sam Hill Preserve near Leavenworth. Located just inside the Icicle Canyon, this spot has a short, easy trail for kids. On this kid-focused outing, we'll explore, learn a wildflower or two, and possibly make some nature art and animal homes. 


Caring For Our Forests: Mountain Home Forest Health Walk

What does it take to restore a forest to a healthy condition? Join Land Trust Stewardship Director Neal Hedges and CDLT Past Board President/retired USFS forest scientist Dr. John Lehmkuhl for an evening hike on Mountain Home Ridge this May to see how the Land Trust has been working to address this question.


Nason Ridge Family Walk to Big Red

Give your mother the gift of an evening spent in nature. One of our newest protected properties, Sleepy Hollow Preserve contains almost 40 acres of land along the lower Wenatchee. On this outing, we will explore what makes this place so special and important to protect. This takes place the day after Mother’s Day, so we will be including Mother’s Day-themed activities on this outing.
