We'll learn the basics of walking with snowshoes on, the go on an easy snowshoe walk. We'll stop and read a snow-themed book and learn about winter animals.

Heather will discuss this special area’s importance to forests, birds, mammals, salmon and water resources. Stops on the tour will highlight conifer diversity, animal tracks, conservation projects and the American Indian and historical use of the land.



Gold Mining History Tour at Saddle Rock and Dry Gulch

Meet at Saddle Rock Trailhead

Did you know that gold mining is a huge part of Wenatchee’s history? Join geologist Brent Cunderla to explore the geology and history of mining at Saddle Rock and Dry Gulch. A short presentation at the trailhead will be followed by a 1.5-mile hike up Dry Gulch Road to see the evidence of mining on the ground. Enjoy an early spring day on the trails!

Sagebrush Songbird Survey & Training | WA State Audubon Society

The Sagebrush Songbird Survey is a community science project developed in partnership with the Washington Department of Wildlife (WDFW). The data collected in this multi-year, million-acre survey helps us find the best remaining habitat areas for sagebrush birds in our state. There will be several Classroom Training Sessions in mid-March and Field Training in early April.
