Weeding for Restoration

9:00 AM-11:00 AM

Want to improve the success of our native grass restoration? Want to fit in an upper body workout before your hike or bike ride? Stop by for as long as you want to help CDLT staff hoe weeds in the restoration area near the lower barn at Horse Lake Reserve.

We will mainly be removing bulbous bluegrass (we need to get it before it spreads!), which is a shallow, fibrous-rooted, perennial weed that we were not able to control during the weed spray last fall. Our native basin wildrye, Idaho fescue and bluebunch wheatgrass need your help to survive! Please join us, even if it's just for 15 min. We need all the help we can get. You do not need to be able to recognize the different grass species - we will flag native plantings as we go and work in sections, so you know what to hoe out and what to leave.

Thank you in advance for being as tenacious in your support of restoration as the weeds are in growing.

Please RSVP so we can provide you with details for the work party as the date approaches.

*All work parties are weather and conditions dependent. Canceled work parties will be rescheduled if possible.
