Apple Capital Loop Trail

State Sen. Linda Evans Parlette is taking up the cause to keep the Eastside portion of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail open to the public.

"I know how important this piece of property is to our citizens and I want to do all I can to ensure we can access it for generations to come," she said in a press release.

We must develop a strategy to ensure that the East Wenatchee waterfront will remain an asset to the community and that the Loop Trail, this valley's jeweled necklace, will remain unbroken.

Until now, the Eastside waterfront has been an undeveloped gem, an island in the urban sea that in its natural beauty invites everyone to enjoy the advantages of our fortunate place in the world. That condition now faces a distant but real threat. Eventual development of some sort seems inevitable.

The east side of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail is at stake as the state prepares to sell the land that the trail sits on, as well as hundreds more acres of riverside property between the Odabashian and pipeline bridges.
