Give deer some room: stay off the trails

A mild winter and warm spring-like weather is enticing people to venture onto foothills trails that are still closed to the public for another two months to protect mule deer.

The premature trail use is a perennial problem as the days get closer to the April 1 reopening of the Sage Hills trails but is happening even earlier this year because of the lack of snow and unseasonably warm temperatures.
