Tools for Living in Chelan County

DOWNLOAD HANDBOOK | ADDITIONAL RESOURCES/LINKS

The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust has created this free handbook as a tool we can use to help us preserve the qualities that make us proud to call Chelan County home.

The 40 page handbook inludes useful information for both newcomers to area and long-time residents. Topics include living with wildlife, protecting your home from wildfire, noxious weeds, landscaping with native plants, residential burning, protecting our water supply, and living in harmony with orchards. There is extensive information on recycling, including where to recycle electronics like cell phones and computers.

You are welcome to stop by our office in downtown Wenatchee to pick up a free copy. You can also download the handbook as a pdf document here. Or if you prefer give us a call and we will mail you a copy.

The Chelan County Natural Resources Department, the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, Chelan County PUD, and the Rotary Club of Wenatchee provided support for this handbook. We would like to thank the Methow Conservancy for their inspiration and for the use of some text from their publication, “Good Neighbor Handbook, A Guide for Landowners in the Methow Valley.”

The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust is a private, non-profit organization based in Wenatchee, Washington. Founded in 1985, we are comprised of a Board of Directors, Staff and over 650 active members and volunteers. Join us and support our work!
